Inauguration de la rue AC/DC à Leganes, le 22 Mars 2000.
Quand j'ai entendu parler de la rue AC/DC en Espagne je n'arrivais pas à le croire. Le première rue AC/DC du monde ici, à Leganes, Madrid. Incroyable mais vrai !
J'étais très excité à l'idée de rencontrer d'autres copains fans à Madrid le jour de l'inauguration. C'était le 22 mars. J'ai voyagé vers Madrid le jour précédent et avec d'autres fans d'AC/DC, nous avons attendu l'arrivée d'Angus et Malcolm à l'aéroport. Nous avons attendu six heures mais lorsqu'ils sont arrivés, nous sommes immédiatement sorti de notre léthargie et l'adrénaline nous a envahit. Ils ont très gentiment signé nos livres, nos vinyles, nos guitares et pris des photos avec tous les fans présents. J'ai pu faire signer mon single "Rockin in the Parlour" par Angus et Malcolm ainsi que d'autres objets. Ils sont été vraiment très sympas avec nous. Ils nous ont dit qu'ils étaient contents qu'une rue soit nommée à leur nom.
Le 22 au matin, nous sommes arrivés à la future "rue AC/DC" à 9h. Il faisait froid. Des ouvriers étaient en train d'installer la plaque de rue. Nous avons attendu plusieurs heures dans la rue en écoutant AC/DC.
Pendant ce temps là, Angus et Malcolm étaient sur une radio de Madrid pour une interview. Angus a joué You shook me all night long pendant qu'un fan chantait les paroles. Chouette moment.
Quand il sont arrivés sur place avec le maire de Leganes, les gens sont devenus fous. Il y avait énormément de journalistes, de fans, de photographes. C'était un moment historique pour nous.
Nous avons pu assister à la conférence de presse grâce à un pass obtenu auprès de Warner et même avons eu la chance de poser quelques questions. Bien sûrs, il y avait là quelques journalistes stupides qui n'avaient jamais entendu parler du groupe et qui posèrent des questions débiles. Une fois la conférence de presse, ils se sont retirés dans une pièce adjacente pour faire quelques déclarations aux télés puis Angus et Malcolm ont dit qu'ils voulaient passer un peu de temps avec les fans. On nous a mis dans une nouvelle pièce à part et Angus et Malcolm ont déboulé pour discuter avec nous, signer des objets etc.. C'était extraordinaire pour nous tous. Cela faisait 22 ans que je rêvais de ce moment et je pouvais enfin leur dire que j'étais, à ce moment là, l'homme le plus heureux de la planète.

CALLE AC/DC INAUGURATION. 22 MARCH 2000.
When I hear about the ac/dc Street (Calle AC/DC in spanish) in Spain, I not can believe. The first AC/DC street in the world here in Leganés, Madrid??? Incredible.... but finally true ! I was very excited and call to some AC/DC fans in Madrid for meet the day of the Inauguration. Was the day 22 March. I travel to Madrid the day before and with others AC/DC fanatics wait for Malcolm and Angus at the airport, 6 hours waiting but when Ang and Mal arrived was a great and excited moment for us, they signed books, vinyls, guitars... and taken photos with all fans, I can to get my Rockin in the parlour single signed for Angus and Malcolm and others items, they are vey friendly and simpathic with the fans, the say us be very glad with the spanish fans and for have one street here.
The day 22 in the morning we arrived to the AC/DC street to 09.00 am, very cold day, workers were still putting the street plate in place, we wait some hours in the street with ac/dc music in a big speakers. Meanwhile Ang and Mal go to one radio studio in Madrid for one interview and Angus Plays live You shook me all night long with one Spanish fan singing.. great and rare recording.
When they arrived for the inaguration with the major of Leganes, the people was crazy, many journalist, Tv cameras, photographers, fans.... a historic moment for us, was very fast for the large crowd that formed.
After we run an run for entry with one special pass Warner give us to the Press conference and have luck of can make some questions inside, also sad hear some stupid questions from Journalist no idea about AC/DC but this is same in all world, but was fantastic can be seeing to Ang and Mal in the press conference, when is finished they attend in one room to diferents Tv´s channels for interviews and a few luck fans have the luck Ang and Mal says they want one moment with the fans we wait in one reserved room and some moments after Malcolm and Angus come and taken photos with all fans, speak a little moment with us, signed more Vinyls, cd´s etc... a magic moment for all us, I not can believe I can live this, The illusion of my life is reality in this moment, after 22 years fan I can salute to the Young brothers in person, I can say in this moment I am the more happy man in the world and here in my county... the first AC/DC street, Calle AC/DC !!
It was two days were unforgettable for all who live in that. you can see the differents moments in my photos added, I hope is ok for you.
